Oldsmar To Host ‘Women Who Work’ Art Exhibit

Portrait Project to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Women’s Suffrage

OLDSMAR, FL – (August 25, 2021) – The City of Oldsmar, Florida, will be hosting the ‘Women Who Work’ Art Exhibit from September 7 through November 5 at City Hall, located at 100 State Street West.

The WCA-FL Organization presents this exhibit under the Women’s Caucus for Art, Florida Chapter. This dedicated group recognizes and promotes local women artists in the community and wholeheartedly supports the National WCAs mission of empowerment, social justice, and art in the service of societal transformation.

This unique exhibit is a Portrait Project, comprised of 36 portraits by 36 different women artists from St. Petersburg, Florida. By representing each woman, it is hoped they capture the powerful ways these women influence their city. Additionally, the project celebrates the 100th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage by featuring women at every level of economic status across various occupations.

“The City of Oldsmar is proud to host this innovative and memorable art exhibit,” stated Mayor Eric Seidel.  “Welcoming the impactful statements from ‘Women Who Work’ is a privilege.  It is truly an honor to recognize these women for their numerous contributions.”

Visitors to the exhibit are encouraged to bring their smartphones. There will be QR codes to scan and provide exclusive content and a virtual video experience to view and hear the story of the inspiration and passion behind each work directly from the artists themselves.

The City of Oldsmar and the Women’s Caucus for Art Florida Chapter invite the public to attend an Artist Reception to officially launch the exhibit on Tuesday, September 7, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
