Code Enforcement

Duties & Responsibilities

The Code Enforcement division is responsible for the enforcement of the Code of Ordinances and development regulations, including business tax receipt, zoning, sign, parking violations and other issues throughout the city that impact the health, safety and welfare of the residents and businesses. The division conducts patrolled inspections, responds to and investigates complaints, and prepares correspondence and notice of violation documents. The Code Enforcement division is primary support to the city's Code Enforcement Board and prepares and computes lien data and maintains the running of fine records and other documentation related to the enforcement of case load.

Anonymous Complaint Notice

As of July 1, 2021, anonymous code violation complaints can no longer be accepted by the City of Oldsmar, per Florida Statutes Section 125.69. This states that a person who reports a potential code violation is REQUIRED to provide their name and address to the local government before an investigation may occur.
