Meet Steve Graber, Candidate for Oldsmar City Council Seat 1

Steve Graber is a candidate for Oldsmar City Council Seat 1. Steve currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the City’s Ordinance Review Committee and as a member of the City’s Board of Adjustment. Steve is also a member of the Oldsmar Historical Society; a Friend of the Oldsmar Library; and a graduate of the 2019 Janice Miller Citizen’s Academy. In addition to Steve’s involvement with the City, he serves on the Forward Pinellas Citizens Advisory Committee as the sole member from the City of Oldsmar.

Steve is focused on the growth of Oldsmar and believes that downtown redevelopment is key to attracting new businesses to the City. Additionally, Steve is an advocate for the expansion of the recreational options the City has to offer; increased golf cart usage throughout the City; and for the development of a community center for the arts.

Steve earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and his law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law. He and his wife Kelly are raising their two young children in Oldsmar. In their spare time, they enjoy spending time at local parks and walking the Oldsmar Trail; dining at local restaurants; and visiting with family and friends.

Meet Pamela Settle, Candidate for Oldsmar City Council Seat 1

Pamela Settle, candidate for Oldsmar City Council, Seat 1, is a proud resident of Oldsmar, small business owner, and a marketing and communications professional with more than 30 years experience working on behalf of communities and businesses nationally, regionally and in Oldsmar. She currently serves as chair for the City of Oldsmar Ordinance Review Committee.

Ms. Settle was the recipient of a Business of the Quarter Award by the Oldsmar City Council, sponsored by councilwoman Gabby McGee, for her work as owner and founder of Light Shine Media Group, LLC. Her company has been publishing magazines under the brand GoodLiving®, including the Guide to Happy Healthy Kids and Tampa Bay Baby. The magazines are intentionally designed to be "publications with a purpose" to share expert information from key local agencies such as the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County, Pinellas County Health Department, Pinellas County Sheriff, Pinellas County Schools, Early Learning Coalition, and many other agencies and experts. In addition, the publications actively support small businesses, charities, youth programs, and community events in an intentional effort to build a sense of community pride and encourage participation. For more than 15 years, Ms. Settle has been active throughout Pinellas County as a volunteer, an invited speaker for parent and professional groups, and a participant in numerous special events. She has served as the local co-chair for the Children's Movement of Florida, a member of the executive advisory committee for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and on committees for the Pinellas Education Foundation and Operation Par's Live Free! drug prevention program.    

Prior to starting her own business, she served as Pinellas County's marketing manager and as Vice President of Marketing for United Way of Tampa Bay, which combined, have given Ms. Settle a unique and comprehensive view of the issues that impact local residents and businesses. It has also allowed her to build valuable relationships with local and state leaders, experts, professional groups, and the media who have all come to know and trust her for her genuine, energetic and professional work on behalf of the community. It is her desire to put her wealth of knowledge, experience and connections to work on behalf of the residents and the businesses who call Oldsmar home.   

As a city council member, Ms. Settle's focus will be on maintaining the safe and quiet life enjoyed in Oldsmar, while proactively looking for ways to improve value, quality of life and prosperity for residents and business owners. As a communications professional, she values open and transparent government and citizen input. As a business owner, she values the contribution businesses make to our city. As an advocate for healthy living, she values park space, sustainable practices, recreational programs for all ages, visual and performing arts, and events that engage and build a strong sense of neighborhood. Her vision for the downtown development is one that is family-friendly and will benefit the residents of Oldsmar.  

Ms. Settle strives for quality in all she takes on. Her work leading the Know Your Zone campaign and  Surviving the Storm Hurricane Guide earned Pinellas County the Governor's Award at the State of Florida Hurricane Conference. Throughout her career, she has been a relationship builder, a change agent, an encourager and a person who gets things done. 

Ms. Settle is the daughter of two Vietnam-era Veterans. She is married to Christopher Settle, assistant principal at Dunedin High School, and they have a 14 year-old son, Jackson who serves as the teen member of the Oldsmar Leisure Services Board.
