1. What is the hardness of the water?: The City of Oldsmar water is much softer than water that was previously purchased from Pinellas County. Hardness levels range between 30-40 milligrams per liter (mg/L) or parts per million (ppm). This is equivalent to 3-4 grains per gallon.

3. Should I be concerned about lead?: The city tests for lead and copper at residences in the distribution system, as mandated by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Lead and copper test results have been historically low for Oldsmar, and, as such, the FDEP and EPA have granted reduced monitoring for our system.
