2. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR TROPICAL STORM & HURRICANE EFFORTS

   Volunteer with the City of Oldsmar and promote opportunities to your neighbors.  The city has four different opportunities where you can help before and after a tropical storm or hurricane event.

   BE A SOCIAL MEDIA AMBASSADOR

   Share official communications regarding tropical storm & hurricane efforts from the city's official social media platforms.

   PLEDGE TO PLAN - HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS

   Take the Pledge to Plan and learn how to prepare for tropical storms & hurricanes.

   Post your Pledge to your social media accounts.

   ASSIST WITH CITY SANDBAG OPERATIONS

   You must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

   You could be working in the heat.

   You will be trained by city staff prior to sandbag operations being mobilized.

   ASSIST WITH DEBRIS REMOVAL

   Remove light debris from medians and parks alongside city staff.

   Assist city staff in gathering loose limbs into piles.

   Helps to return normalcy to the public.

    NOTE: Once your application is received, you will be sent an Affidavit of Good Moral Character to fill out and have notarized. Directions will be provided for such submission.

    DISCLAIMER: Effective upon submission of this executed application and approval of same by The City of Oldsmar (The City), the Volunteer fully and unconditionally waives any claim or cause of action against The City and releases The City from all liability for any claim, cause of action, or other occurrence resulting in injury, death, losses or damages to the volunteer, if such claim, cause of action or occurrence arises in any manner from the use of equipment or physical activities upon premises owned by The City.  Furthermore, the Volunteer hereby agrees to hold harmless The City for any theft or damage through an act of God, or of a third person, during volunteer activities . The Volunteer agrees that The City will not be responsible for providing insurance against such an occurrence, and the Volunteer assumes full responsibility for providing any such insurance at their discretion. Volunteer acknowledges they are 18 years or older and are able to perform the activities registered for with the City.
