Council Member Dan Saracki is serving his second term on Oldsmar City Council Seat 2. He has been a proud Oldsmar resident since 1995 and a local business owner for twenty years. He possesses a background in marketing and sales, with an emphasis on commercial real estate.
His community service started in 2009 when he saw a need in his neighborhood to increase community involvement, maintain property values, and improve security. He was elected President of his Homeowners Association that year; and continued to share his leadership ability by serving as Chair on the Leisure Services Advisory Board, Oldsmar Cares Board of Directors, and the Eastlake Oaks Community Development District.
Dan is a member of several community organizations, including the Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, President of Oldsmar Top of the Bay Toastmasters Club, and Treasurer of the Oldsmar Historical Society. In 2016, he was selected to participate in the Urban Administration Committee for the Florida League of Cities (FLC) and was a Member at Large for the FLC Resolutions Committee for 2018-2019. He was selected to participate in the Leadership Pinellas Class of 2017. Dan is a graduate of the Institute for Elected Municipal Officials (IEMO), Advanced Institute for Elected Municipal Officials (IEMO Advanced and IEMO IV). He served as representative for the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council (TBRPC) from 2016-2019.
Dan was recently named to serve on the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) Board of Directors representing Oldsmar, Safety Harbor, and Tarpon Springs. He currently represents Oldsmar as its advocate for the Suncoast League of Cities and was recently elected as their First Vice President. He was recently named Chairman of the FLC Municipal Administration Policy Committee. Dan was honored to receive the Home Rule Hero Award consecutively in 2018 and 2019 from the FLC in recognition for his outreach efforts to members of the state legislature on the importance of protecting Home Rule .
Dan was honored to serve as Chairman of the Oldsmar Centennial Task Force, which produced many community events during 2016, including Fifth Fridays, Centennial Dinner Dance, Oldsmobile Auto Show, Centennial Concert, and the Centennial Time Capsule. These efforts, along with his volunteer committee, City staff, and corporate sponsors, helped Oldsmar earn the coveted City Spirit award in 2017 from the FLC. Dan enjoys spending his spare time bike riding on Oldsmar’s many trails and camping with his wife Paula and their three grandsons.
